With over 5 percent of all marriages in the US happening in Las Vegas, there is no question we have romance pumping through our veins. February 14 is a special day and really, what better way to make it more than special by tying the knot on Valentine's Day?
The first Valentine thought to ever be written dates back to 1415 when Charles, the Duke of Orleans, who was imprisoned in the Tower of London, sent a love letter to his wife. It even still exists
The average number of wedding proposals taking place on Valentine’s Day is 220,000 and it is 10% of the total marriage proposals taking place in a year. This means if you were in Scottsdale, Arizona everyone would be making a proposal.
Roman Emperor Claudius II was trying to bolster his army, he forbade young men to marry (apparently single men make better soldiers). In the spirit of love, St. Valentine defied the ban and performed secret marriages. For his disobedience, Valentine was executed on February 14.
But you don't have to get married in secret anymore. In Las Vegas you can have your wedding your way, you can even add Elvis!
